iRise & Wayzegoose

Hey everyone!

This weekend from Friday to Saturday BSU and MAPS will be hosting our annual stayover program. The weekend will be sure to be full of good times! Even if you’re not officially a part of the program (mentor, stay over host, greeter, group leader, etc) still feel free to come out and get acquainted with our possible newbys!

Also! After iRise is over on Saturday afternoon, be sure to come out and visit the BSU table in aldrich park. We’ll be selling sweets and treats alongside BLAC Gala. Check out BSU Board’s very own Jackie Uweh dancing on the main stage at 1:45! See you there!

Today in the Joe White Room of the CCC a Forum/Speak Out was held in honor to further discuss Trayvon Martin and antiBlack violence. As expected, put on by renowned Professor Dr. Willoughby-Herard, it was informative, inspiring, and provocative. To open discussion was a panel full of knowledgeable faculty including Dr. Wilderson, Dr. Sexton, and Professor Kim of Asian American Studies. The discussion was enough to bring some to tears, to enrage a few, and inspire others. Let’s not let these feelings fade away. Keep the passion alive!
